Which teat do I need?

Two styles. The feeder decides which one, not the calf.

Pull through

Seats on its own flange with no adapter and no ring behind it, so it is the one to use on narrow moat feeders where there is nothing to screw into. Fits openings of roughly 3/4 to 7/8 in. (20 to 21.5 mm).

Threaded

Screws into a threaded seat or a bottle cap ring. It will also go into a plain 7/8 in. (22 mm) hole once a two piece threaded adapter is clamped in place. This is the style the bottles and buckets use.

That one measurement is what lets you standardize. Threaded teats go into the troughs through the supplied adapters, pull through teats seat in the same openings, and a two piece adapter brings an unthreaded bucket or barrel into the same system.

Common questions

Can I run pull through teats in a feeder that came with threaded ones?

Yes. The openings are the same size, so a pull through teat seats in the hole once the threaded adapter is taken out. Running one style across the whole barn means one spare to keep on the shelf.

Why does the valve come out of the teat?

So you can clean behind it. The one way valve lifts out, which lets a brush pass right through the teat instead of leaving milk film in a place you cannot reach.

Do I have to replace the whole bottle when the teat goes?

No. The teat, the threaded cap ring and the base pull vent are each stocked separately, and the cap assembly is also sold as a ring and teat together.

Do you sell teats in bulk?

Yes, by the case of 500 in both the pull through and threaded styles. Cases are made up here, so they carry no factory barcode.
