The Brower High Pressure VP223K valve is the next generation valve which replaces the VP1 valve series. The VP223K is an ideal valve for high pressure situations. The Brower valve and provides simplicity with few moving parts and has the following features.
The VP223K has a 1/8" diameter orifice for high pressure.
- Greater flow rate due to the plunger traveling a longer distance
- Greater tolerance to operation in dirty conditions
- No diaphragm, cam link or power link which means fewer maintenance items.
Easily replaces the VP1 valve and designed with fewer parts to create increased water flow.
NOTE: The fully assembled valve part numbers are VP221, VP223, VP224, VP226, VP227. The last 2 numbers on VP2 match up with the VP1 valve. If your drinker originally took the VP124, order a VP224, etc.
Valve hook up suggestions for better service
- Flush lines thoroughly to remove all foreign material
- DURAPRIDE Valve should not be subjected to excessive tool pressures at any time
- Hold inlet pipe securely while connecting to water supply line
- Knurled ring o valve to be hand tightened only. When replacing valve base to pip fittings- use Teflon tape or pipe seal, hand tighten plus one half turn with 1" socket of box end wrench.

Replaced old one but it would not stop dripping water thru the rubber seal. I compared the new one with the old one and found the shape of the tapered seal that goes against the rubber seal was different. The new one was a flatter seal while the old one was more pointed. I reused that one piece from the old one and it sealed agained the rubber with no dripping.
Don’t know why they would have changed the shape like that.
Hello Steven,
Thank you for your review. I would like to offer some insight as to the different shape of the valve seal. This was not due to a change in the seal, in fact, your original valve came flat just as the new one did. The taper or cone shape that you're referring to was caused by usage in your waterer and the water pressure. Not a result of a product change. Some things to check with your new one. 1. Ensure that you have the valve that is rated for your water pressure. The cone shape indicates that you have high water pressure. 2. Ensure that the float is in the correct position. On some valve set-ups, this may take a few adjustments.
For future purchases, please note that the valve seal will be flat as that is how they are designed. You are welcome to contact us or the manufacturer if you continue to have issues with your valve as well.
This product works! Great company to buy from!
