Collection: Hoskins Waterer Parts

There is not much on a Hoskins waterer that cannot be put right with a wrench and a brass part. The valve lives in its own insulated compartment behind a service door, and everything that wears is a stock item.

The parts list

  • Bob valve — 3/8, 1/2, 3/4 and 1 in. Fills the tank. The size is set by your model.
  • Float rod — 4, 6 and 8 in. Joins the valve to the float. The length sets the water level.
  • RM 153 valve and float assembly — the complete valve used on the horse and hog units in place of a rod.
  • RM 153 hose hookup — for filling and flushing from a hose.
  • Plunger — four sizes, 3/8 through 1 in. Sets how fast water passes.
  • Rubber stopper — 1 1/2 in. and 2 in. Plugs the drain.
  • Valve cover — the insulated cover over the valve compartment.
  • Valve hookup — the fitting between your water line and the unit.
  • Heaters — A, AA, B and C, used singly or doubled up, covering 250 W through 2,100 W.

Two quick rules

Stopper size follows the species: 2 in. on cattle and sheep units, 1 1/2 in. on horse and hog units, both on the CH combination units. Valve size follows the model, so read the plate on the service door before you order.
