What sets this one apart is the orifice. It is a .45 inch, larger than the orifice in the standard MC valve that goes in the electric and energy free waterers, so the two are not interchangeable even though they look much alike on the shelf. Check the orifice on the valve you are pulling out before you order.

Fit this when the old valve starts to stick, weep past the seat, or will not shut the water off. Flush the supply line before the new valve goes in, because whatever grit got through the old one will reach this one just as quickly.
