Measure your old rod before you order
Franklin used three lid rods of the same 5/16 inch diameter in different lengths, and two of them are only half an inch apart. This one is 5/16 x 13 5/16. Pull the old rod, lay a tape on it and match the length rather than going by the look of the part.
This is the steel lid rod for the Franklin AP-1 and AP-10 waterer. The rod holds the lid in the trough opening. When it rusts thin, bends or works its way loose, the lid stops seating the way it should, which lets heat out and lets dirt and bedding into the water.
Size: 5/16 inch by 13 5/16 inches, steel.
Franklin stopped building the AP, F, PC and E series waterers, but the wear parts are still here. If you are not sure which model you have, the parts list pages carry the unit measurements, which is the quickest way to tell them apart.
