The housing for the HC14 horse waterer on either frame. The HC14 sits between the HC7 and the HC17 and shares a cover with neither.
Hoskins describe this housing as shielding the valve gear and holding warmth around it. Warmth is the half that counts once the temperature drops. A split or missing housing puts moving air straight onto the valve, and a seized valve empties a pen faster than a tired element ever will.
