Installation Recommendations

  • Mount on a solid, level surface such as a concrete pad using a riser tile or insulated heat tube for waterline protection.
  • Anchor to concrete pad to secure the unit in high-traffic areas or where larger livestock will use the waterer.
  • Extend water supply line below frost depth, even in unheated models, to reduce freeze risk at the valve.
  • Use flexible hose or insulated line to reduce vibration damage and limit heat loss through plumbing.
  • Flush lines before connecting the Durapride valve to remove debris and prevent valve sticking.
  • Check valve placement through the top cover to ensure proper alignment with the float.
  • Test water level adjustments after installation to confirm proper shutoff and refill speed.
  • Optional heater installation: if adding the 250W heater, connect only to a GFCI-protected 110V outlet installed under unit.
  • Inspect seals and drain areas at the beginning and end of each season for debris buildup.
