Three parts rebuild the valve chamber on a WaterMatic 150 made before 2022, and all three are in this one order. The valve, the float that suits that build, and the bracket the valve threads into.
Three parts, one order
- Ritchie red 1/2" valve #12575 — rated 40 to 60 PSI.
- Ritchie float #12836 — the long arm float, which is the one a WaterMatic 150 built before 2022 takes.
- Ritchie valve bracket #11515 — supplied with its screw package.
Because the three parts have to agree with each other. Buy them separately and you are checking a valve against a float against a bracket across three listings, and if one of them is on back order the other two sit in a box while the waterer keeps dripping. One line on the order, one box, one trip out to the unit.
Pre-2022 is the long arm build
Ritchie switched the float partway through. A 150 from before 2022 carries the long arm 12836 you get here. From 2022 on the unit takes the short arm instead, and the two park the water at different heights, so compare the arm on the float you pull out before you fit anything.
Ritchie 1/2 inch valves by pressure
All three share the same body and thread. What changes is the orifice, so the color tells you the pressure band it is built for.

It is not meant to thread in until the threads disappear. Snug it by hand and leave it. A wrench, or an extra half turn of determination, is what splits a valve bracket, and a bracket split that way falls outside the warranty. Ritchie prints the same warning in red on the valve packaging.
