The Water Rippler – Solar is a durable, year-round stock tank circulation system designed for locations where traditional electrical power is not available. Constructed from high-density polyethylene (HDPE), the unit is built to withstand long-term outdoor use and resist cracking, UV exposure, and water damage.
This solar-powered option operates using a 12V DC, 50-watt pump and connects to a customer-supplied 12-volt battery and solar panel system. It includes a 6-foot power cord and a 15-foot solar adapter cord with ¼″ ring terminals, allowing direct connection to an existing solar setup. By keeping water in motion, the Water Rippler helps slow ice formation in winter and reduce algae growth and mosquito hatchings during warmer months, making it a true year-round water management solution.
Each unit ships with a pump-mounted filter to reduce debris intake and protect the pump and discharge ports. Four outlet caps with holes are included to create maximum water velocity across the tank surface. For smaller tanks or more controlled circulation, two solid caps are also included, allowing water flow to be redirected as needed.
Product Size:
12″ × 12″ (includes mounted pump)
⚠️ Important Solar Power Considerations
Proper solar performance depends entirely on the capacity and condition of the customer-supplied solar system. The Water Rippler requires a consistent 12V DC power supply to operate reliably.
Solar performance can be affected by:
- Seasonal daylight hours (shorter winter days reduce charging time)
- Weather conditions (cloud cover, snow, storms)
- Geographic location (reduced winter sun in northern regions)
- Panel placement and angle
- Battery size, age, and overall health
If your solar system is undersized or inconsistent, run time may be limited—especially during long, cold nights. Customers unfamiliar with solar system sizing are encouraged to consult a local solar provider before purchasing.

Benefits of the Water Rippler
✓ Effective - Because the Water Rippler moves the water across the entire surface of the stock tank, it is very effective. It works in much the same way as a river does, keeping water moving slows ice formation and prevents mosquitoes from laying their larvae on the moving water.
✓ Multi-Season Use - Water Rippler keeps water fresh and available in water tanks for livestock and horses by mitigating ice in the winter and managing insects and algae in the summer.
✓ Cost Savings - Water Rippler has a 97% energy/cost savings over our primary competitor, a 1500 watt stock tank heater. While the average stock tank heater solution costs an average of $3.91/day to operate, Water Rippler costs $0.13/day. (Cost figured on Wyoming kWh charge of 10.86 in 2024 this will vary by state)
